We are very pleased to welcome 10 students and their teacher from Sundai Kofu Junior High School, in Kofu (town) in the Yamanashi province of Japan. The group will be visiting with us from Tuesday 13th – Sunday 25th March, being billeted by local families.

During their stay, the group will be developing their English skills, joining with our middle school classes for lessons and going on excursions to learn about Australia and the Riverland. Their home is very mountainous (2 hours west of Tokyo near Nagano, where the 1998 Winter Olympics was held) and the climate quite a bit colder than ours so it should be rather eye-opening for them here.

We’re looking forward to showing the group the Australian ‘way of life’, introducing them to our culture, foods and of course – having fun together!

Check out their school webpage here. If you use Google Chrome as your browser, it will even offer to translate the site for you!
